What We Believe

Romans 10:9-10 - lizmarieclark.com

Scripture

We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, eternal, immutable, verbally inspired, supreme, authoritative, authentic, infallible.

The Godhead

We believe the one, Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternal in being, equal in power and glory, and having precisely the same attributes and perfections.

Man’s Creation & The Fall

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell and inherited a sinful nature and consequent alienation from God, and come under the judicial sentence of death.

The Person and Work of Jesus

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His ascension into heaven where He is now exalted at the right hand of God.

We believe in the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church and His subsequent premillenial return to earth to set up His kingdom.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, convicts of sin, regenerates the heart, indwells, enlightens, and guides the believer.

Salvation

We believe in justification by faith – that man is a sinner, and that he can be justified before God only on the ground of faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God.

The Church

We believe the Church, which is the Body and Bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons of this present age, irrespective of their affiliation with Christian organization and that each person is gifted to fulfill tasks within the Church to edify the body of believers.

The Eternal State

We believe the souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation so at death immediately pass into His presence, and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at His coming, when the soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in the Glory; but the soul of unbelievers remain after death in conscious misery until the final judgment of the Great White Throne at the close of the Millennium, when soul and body reunited, shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.
